The last record to feature Blixa Bargeld before he left for pastures new, saw Cave again display his uncanny ability to traverse genres in a single bound. The band’s twelfth studio record is more powerful than their first. Not many artists are capable of not only stopping the seemingly inevitable haemorrhage of talent and passion one feels with age, but actively working against it.
